This page distinguishes commitments CMI intends to adopt from controls that are already documented and operational.
Present position
CMI intends to protect research questions, methods, findings and publication decisions from inappropriate funder or partner influence. The enforceable policy and responsible governance body are not yet published.
Future programmes and publications should identify their funding source, relevant conditions and material in-kind support. Current institutional funding arrangements have not been published.
Institutional and individual interests should be declared, assessed and managed before work begins. The declaration process and public register are not yet operational.
Important findings should be methodologically challenged, limitations disclosed, evidence traceable and material errors corrected with a visible version history. Formal review and corrections procedures remain to be adopted.
Data use, participation and policy experimentation should be lawful, proportionate and attentive to harm, vulnerability, consent and unequal consequences. A formal ethics review structure has not yet been established.
