Every research item is identified as either in development or published. An agenda is not presented as completed research, and an illustrative example is not presented as observed work.

CMI’s current public standard concentrates on what this website can make directly inspectable: research status, attribution, funding, conflicts, methods, review, limitations and corrections.

Make the conditions surrounding a claim visible.
The research record is designed to distinguish completed evidence from intended inquiry and to expose the information readers need to judge credibility.

Funding disclosure
Each research item states its funding position. Where conditions or material in-kind support are relevant, they belong with the item they could influence.

Conflicts of interest
Each research item carries a conflict statement so readers can evaluate relevant institutional or individual interests alongside the findings.

Methods, review and limitations
Methods, review status and limitations appear with the work. The strength of a conclusion must not exceed the evidence or design supporting it.

Versions and corrections
A material correction changes the version and updated date. The research item remains at its stable URL so its current status can be inspected.
Current disclosure boundary
Do not let language outrun evidence.
The website does not use a general claim of institutional independence as a substitute for named governance, funding and publication arrangements. Specific disclosures belong with the work and policy to which they apply.
Research items
Show status, authorship, version, funding, conflicts, review, method, limitations and citation.
Corporate-sector assessment
Separate company commitments from observed performance and disclose relevant funding and interests.
Policy experimentation
Require lawful authority, proportionality, ethical safeguards and an acceptable boundary around harm.
Accountability
Questions and corrections need a route back to the record.
